The company's managing director, Stephen Thompson, is an ex-infantry Warrant Officer First Class (W01). As daft as it now seems, he didn't introduce The Specialist Military CV into the company's product range until just over two years ago. His wife mentioned casually in conversation that the Armed Forces were probably his "niche market", and he realised he had only written a handful of CV's for people leaving the military over the company's 14 year existence.

Armed Forces CV's has literally exploded since the first ad was placed in Soldier Magazine back in 2009, and Stephen now spends very little time on the civilian side of the business as a result. He writes all Armed Forces CV's personally.

Having attended and exhibited at the BFRS show in September 2010, Stephen was determined to grow the military side further and leapt at the opportunity to become one of the founder members of the Omnivil Virtual Careers Fair environment when it launched in February of this year.

The fully-functional booth holds much useful CV advice and information for people leaving the Armed Forces, and provides the opportunity for those leavers to interact personally with Stephen in real time via an appointments system to meet face-to-face via web cam. Visitors are also able to drop off copies of their current CV for expert critique, or to take advantage of Armed Forces CV's expertise to get their CV rewritten professionally.

In the short time since launch several people have had the benefit of a written appraisal of their own CV, and at least one individual has already secured an interview using the Armed Forces CV. Thanks to Omnivil!
